What does my website do about privacy and cookies?

Your website loads nothing from other companies, asks visitors before counting them, sets no cookie for statistics, and has a legal notice and a privacy page written from your details in Settings.

Kwipps builds privacy into every website, so there is nothing for you to switch on.

Nothing from other companies

Fonts and photographs are served from your website's own address, not fetched from other companies when a page opens. A visitor's browser talks only to your website — unless the visitor agrees to something like a map from another company.

The privacy box

  1. The first time somebody visits, a small box asks for their choice. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and nothing is ticked in advance.
  2. Visitor statistics are counted only after a yes, and without any cookie: a visitor is recognised for one day only. See How do I see who visits my website?
  3. Maps and booking tools from other companies load only if the visitor allows them; until then, a placeholder says what would be shown.
  4. The choice is remembered for about six months, and a small shield on every page lets the visitor change it.

Your website has a legal notice and a privacy policy, written for your country and kept up to date from your details. For Switzerland, they name the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Check your legal name, address, telephone and email under Console › Settings › Name and address and Console › Settings › How people reach you: that is what they print.
