What is the difference between a room type and a room?

A room type is what guests book — "Double with lake view", with its price and photos; a room is the door behind it — "12". The website sells room types, and the calendar fills rooms.

Guests do not choose room 12; they choose a double room with a lake view. That is why Kwipps keeps two lists. The room type carries everything a guest reads — name, beds, how many it sleeps, the price, a line of description, amenities and a photograph. The rooms are your actual doors, and each belongs to one type. Three rooms behind "Double with lake view" means the website can sell three of them on the same night, never a fourth.

Add a room type

  1. Go to Console › Rooms › Add a room type.
  2. Fill in Name and Price per night — enough to start. Add Beds ("1 double bed"), Size m², Adults up to and Children up to, One line for the website, Amenities, comma-separated ("Wi-Fi, Balcony, Lake view") and a Photograph (https://…) address when you have them.
  3. Press Save room types.

Add its rooms

  1. Under Console › Rooms › The rooms, press Add a room. A room needs a saved room type first.
  2. Give it its number or name, choose its Type, and add the Floor if that helps the desk.
  3. Repeat for every room, then press Save rooms. The stay calendar shows one row per room.

Stop selling a room type

Tick Not offered online on its card and press Save room types. The website stops offering it; you can still book it yourself at the desk. If you press Remove on a type that still has rooms or stays, Kwipps hides it instead of deleting it, so no stay loses its room.
